Self-sufficiency target for the year xxx
We are developing the installation of solar panels across the entire production area of our headquarters in Barcelona with the aim of self-sufficiency for the year xxxxx. At present, approximately 150,000 kWh/year of solar energy is produced, which allows us to be self-sufficient at different times solely with solar energy. This translates into a saving of emissions of up to about 100,000 kg of CO2 per year, which would require a forest area of approximately one and a half million square metres for its absorption. As an example, all products in the Salerm Cosmetics Biokera family, from colouring and treatments to the latest addition, Fresh, are already being manufactured with 95% of renewable energy.
Reduce energy consumption
In our factories and warehouses, we have skylights installed in the roof and large windows in the walls, which allow us to work most of the time with natural light. All our lighting systems are LED, and in many areas, they automatically deactivate when they detect the absence of people. In other areas, the lights are “dimmable” LEDs, which are capable of automatically regulating their intensity when they detect the absence of light (the more light enters from outside, the less intense the lighting becomes).
Centralised computer system
The boilers and other heating and air conditioning systems are state-of-the-art. All motors installed in the machinery and systems are of premium efficiency IE3 class, which allows for very considerable savings in electricity. All elements in our factories (pumps, compressors, machines, conveyor belts, etc.) are interconnected, and a centralised computer system stops them or puts them into standby mode if their operation is not required. Energy consumption audits are constant, allowing us to continuously implement improvements in the areas of energy efficiency and the environment.
